We seek to be a multicultural, multigenerational congregation with growing influence for Jesus Christ in the Town of Brunswick, Rensselaer County, across the Capital Region, and around the world. The mission field is all around us.

At Brunswick Church, we strive to recognize and react to the needs of our own community. We are also a sending church that seeks to reflect the example set by Jesus Christ. We must all look outside of ourselves and share our resources, our gifts and our very lives with others.

The Brunswick Church Mission Team follows a prayerfully created and regularly evaluated mission policy as we select mission partners to support. We currently support mission partners in over 14 countries. We encourage relationships with our partners and are blessed by numerous visits throughout the year. We also strive to be a local congregation with a heart for our own community. We believe we reflect God’s own that heart for mission when we reach outside ourselves and share not only our resources, but our very lives with others.

Having a heart for mission means that Brunswick is both a sending and receiving church —willing to send leadership and receive leadership from our mission partners. We recognize that mission is a two-way street —acknowledging we often receive and learn much more than we give and teach.

The main focus of our mission is relationship.
Crucial to our focus are our mission partners both local and global.
In addition to our many dear partners and friends, we’ve been led in the last several years to a deeper emphasis in the following areas:

  • Kenya
  • Bangladesh
  • Gulf Coast (Pearlington MS, Gulfport MS,
    and New Orleans LA)
  • Downtown Troy
  • Rural Rensselaer Country

Prayer ministries

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

At Brunswick Church, we strive to be an intentional praying community, believing that prayer is foundational to our life together as the body of Christ. For that reason, prayer is powerful in and vital to our care of one another and our ministry in the region, nation, and world.

Here are just a few ways in which we join together in prayer…

Community Prayer (worship joys and concerns)
Each worship weekend, we lift up the joys we have experienced in God’s blessings, as well as the concerns that have been heavy on our hearts. Come join us on Thursday at 7:00pm or Sunday at 8:30am and 11:00am and experience God’s presence in gathered worship and community prayer.

Prayer Cards & Kiosk
Another way to request prayer is to fill our a prayer card, located in the seat pockets or at the prayer kiosk in our Worship Center. These cards give you the option to have your request prayed for by our pastors and staff confidentially, by our prayer chain (a dedicate group of people called to a ministry of prayer),or by the whole church community (with permission).

Worship Prayer Teams (Sunday 8:30am service only)
During our Sunday 8:30am service, a prayer team is stationed in the left-hand stone archway in the front of our Worship Center during communion. The prayer team is available to pray with you and for you for any need.

Music In Worship

Singing Hymns on All Saints DayMusic plays an integral role in our three weekly worship services. It is a gift from God, capable of stirring the heart and emotions, and allows us to worship Him with an ever-varying pallette. From the ancient hymns of our faith, accompanied by a soaring organ, to the driven sounds of a contemporary worship band, lifting our praises to our Creator and seeking His face in worship through music act as anchors in our services.

Many individuals and groups are involved in this ministry–adult and children’s choirs, men’s and women’s ensembles, instrumental players and band members commit themselves to a high level of engagement with one another and musical leaders to ensure a constant pursuit of excellence in this area. They are supported in worship by a team of Audio-Visual Techs, who lend sound system support and video technology to enhance the congregation’s worship. There are many opportunities for involvement at all levels of musical experience. Contact us at if you are interested.

Brunswick Church Youth
Our mission is to be a part of the Brunswick Church family, helping teens discover Jesus Christ, grow in a relationship with Him and others, and help them to find a place to use their gifts in the Church.

Children in worship
Children are a welcomed and vital part of our worship at Brunswick Church. We offer classes and care for the youngest, Early Childhood, and a children’s worship, Xtreme Worship, for the older ones. We also provide children with a “worship bag” of activities to help enrich their worship experience should they choose to stay with family or friends in the Worship Center.

Xtreme worship (1st – 5th grades)
Sundays @ 8:30am and 11:00am (Will be taking a hiatus for July, will begin again the second Sunday of August)

In Xtreme Worship, kids experience the power and energy of God in a large group setting. Each worship experience has…

Upbeat music
High drama Bible lessons (drama, video, or object lesson)
Experiential learning where kids make BIG discoveries, and multi-sensory lessons that WOW kids and keep them coming back, week after week
It’s BIG surprise…BIG excitement…and God’s Word presented in BIG-time cool ways that kids love!

Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten)
Sundays @ 8:30 & 11:00am

We welcome the privilege of ministering to your child with the love of Jesus. Our goal in the Early Childhood department is for each child to practically experience God’s love from the people caring for them. Our Early Childhood department provides a loving, nurturing and age-appropriate environment for each age group, with the addition of age-appropriate lessons for our older two classrooms.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are multiple opportunities for us to be of service to our community, both local and global. Our Deacons help reach out to those in need in our congregation and local community. We operate a Day Care center 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year and a Nursery School in the mornings during the school year. Our Missions team helps organize opportunities both locally with a Food Pantry and globally with trips to support orphanages in Kenya and Bangladesh, as well as reaching out to help rebuild after disasters. An important part of our walk with Christ involves a life of service. He has shown all you people what is good.        And what does the LORD require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy        and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
