HISTORY

history

It all began in 1809 when a group of faithful believers saw the need for a new community of God in Brunswick. The First Presbyterian Society of Brunswick was formed and raised the funds to hire Rev. John Keys to preach, either in Mr. Polluck’s barn or at the school house on Farm-to-Market road.  It served as a church that would offer worship services in English, while the other churches in the area conducted their services solely in German.

The church has grown in many ways since those early pioneers pledged to form this community of faith.  Since that time, Brunswick Church has had a rich history of proclaiming the gospel.  Two centuries later, the same ethos of welcome and the desire to build a strong family still motivates us. We understand that the church is not just the building. It is the community of people who worship a risen Lord and calls all those who are broken and hungry to come and be feed and healed.

Today Brunswick Church is an exciting and friendly community of children, youth, and adults serving the surrounding community and the world, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with all who are willing to hear, and growing in our own understanding of God’s plan for us and our world. God leads us to be a family that extends the grace, mercy, and forgiveness of Jesus to everyone. No matter what you have been through or what questions you might have, we want you to be part of our family. We hope to have you visit us and become a part of our community soon!

Our Vision is to grow as disciples who ADORE God, BELONG together in Christ, and COMMIT to serving others.

Verse of the day:
Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
