The Fellowship

E-Bulletin of Brunswick Church                        May 22, 2019

God calls us to the solution to the world’s greatest problems. The most profound is the idea of living in a true community of faith. The greatest malady afflicting our culture in the age of social media is alienation. God gives us the cure with the one true fellowship in the Holy Spirit. Come find out how this week, and as we prepare pray with me:

Oh Lord, as we come before You in Jesus’ name we Your people will praise You with our innermost being, Father, we praise Your Holy name. We will not forget Your benefits and we give You praise and thanksgiving because You have forgiven our sins and healed our diseases. We praise You because You have redeemed our life from the pit and crowned us with compassion. Father, we praise You because You satisfy our desires with good things and You renew our Youth like the eagles. Father, we praise You and honor You for You alone work righteousness for the oppressed, You are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love. Thank you, our lord and savior, amen.
(Based on Psalm 103:1-8)

Last summer, a group from Brunswick Church attended the Global Leadership Summit and walked away with fresh knowledge, insight, and ideas as to how we can better serve our Lord, our community and ourselves. This annual summit is being held Thursday, August 8 & Friday, August 9 at Grace Fellowship in Halfmoon. The Early Bird cost is currently $189 ($149 if we get a team of 10 or more) per person and there are discounts available for students, teachers, and veterans ($89). The Early Bird price ends on May 21, then the price goes up. Please contact Office Manager Colleen Lais if you are interested in going.

BLOOD DRIVE FOLLOW-UP

Brunswick Church wants to say a big thank you to all the 20 people who donated blood and to Barb Ritschel and Pat Casavant who volunteered to help it run smoothly.  The next drive is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24.

Could It Be A Sign?

Brunswick’s wonderful Building and Grounds Team is working hard toward getting a digital sign installed.  Until that happens, we need to change the wording on the sign we now have, and that has to be done manually!  We’d like to have coverage through July. We need volunteers to join the ranks.

If you’d be willing to sign up for a turn to change the sign you can do so at http://signup.com/go/fCwArUg

This is the same online scheduling program that the pantry uses, and it works well.  OR, you can email your choice of the week, send to Gail Swota at gswota@gmail.com, and we’ll get you onto the schedule!

We are in need of Childcare for Pentecost (6/9 at 10:30 AM) for children 2 and under. We will need one adult and one helper (a helper can be a teen, or an adult). This would be a great way to serve our larger congregation for our combined Pentecost Service! Please contact Niki if you are interested.

Giving for the week of
May 19, 2019

Giving this week……………………………..$ 10,850
YTD Giving…………………………………….$302,000

Thanks be to God for a blessed offering this week!

From our counters:  If you are using an envelope, please write your number (even better – also include your name!) on the envelope. We appreciate this, especially with cash donations. If you are writing a check, we ask that you also include the number on the memo line. These small steps help to ensure accurate recording.

Online giving can help support your intentions to maintain your commitment to serve others in our giving, even when life gets busy! Click here to learn more!

Important information for those who choose to give online. The system only allows donations to be set up for a specific period of time. Please be aware that once that time ends the donations will stop without notification. Some of our members have found that their tithing ended without their knowing. It is important to always review your scheduled donations and update the information with any changes in bank or credit card information. If you have any questions, contact Bob Schmidt at business@brunswickchurch.org.
