Though born in Buffalo, NY, I was raised in the Northwest, in the greater Seattle area of Washington State. As a child and youth, my faith was formed in the Presbyterian church, though my family comes diverse faith backgrounds - including Baptist, Lutheran, and Anglican.

I attended the University of Washington, where I studied English, specifically Creative Writing, and Woman's Studies. During this period, I participated in a college ministry that allowed me the opportunity to work alongside missionaries in a Honduran village for three months.

Following college (and being married to my husband, James!), I began discerning two calls on my life: one was to the corporate world and the other was to the pastorate. Early on, I worked for local businesses in the Seattle area and discovered willing and faithful mentors, along with exciting intellectural challenges. In the midst of this work, I journeyed with James to Australia to spend a year in the Sydney L'Arche community, a faith-based organization that calls people to share life with adults with developmental disabilities.

What God brought to light in me during this time was a desire for both intellectual challenge and personal, intentional interaction with believers in the walk of faith. These experiences and insights came together for me in my decision to attend Princeton Theological Seminary and begin the journey toward ordination. I graduated from Princeton in May 2010 with a Master of Divinity degree.

James and I have been married now for 9 years. I enjoy traveling, reading and being food adventurist. James has spend most of his career in Special Educateion and running and anything "outdoors."
